My story

I have been asked time and time again - have I hit a mid life crisis - the answer is NO but I was determined that this year before reaching 40 that I had to achieve my ambition which was to run the London marathon.  The training has been going well and I can be regularly seen around the streets of Sunderland - in all weathers (II'm a tough guy - harking back to my army days!)

I shall be raising money to purchase sensory equipment for our adult students. We already have a sensory room but want to enhance the quality of resources.  I   am hoping to raise enough to buy a Soundbeam.  This is a device that usesultra sonic beams to create sound and music.  When the beams are interrupted by movement, sound and music are produced.  Students can be fully independent in creating their own sounds and communication skills can be developed through this technology.

The race is on 13th April 2008 and I am hoping to reach my target time of 4 hours 20mins - I shall let you know how I get on.
