Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.
I'm doing the Great North Run on Sunday 5th October, 2008. This will be a rather momentous occasion for me as it'll be just shy of a year since I had a nasty accident whilst out teaching in the United Arab Emirates, which resulted in me messing up my leg pretty badly and being unable to run for a good 7 months or so.
I love running and exercise in general, so this recovery period was really difficult, and I am so pleased that now I have the opportunity again to get out and enjoy physical activities whilst raising money for a good cause. Because of my accident, completing the Great North Run will be an even bigger achievement than it would feel normally and will be a milestone in my recovery.
RNLI are an organisation based entirely on charity. You may find this surprising- most people (including me until recently) assume that it receives support through taxes like other emergency organisations, but it does not.
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: RNLI - Royal National Lifeboat Institution gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
So please sponsor me now!
