City Gateway is dedicated to bringing hope to Tower Hamlets and to the local communities that have been left behind by the area's wider economic development. We look to connect with local women & disadvantaged young people, and run programmes that engage them, train them and provide them with the skills and opportunities they need to enter work. We run a women's project, a youth centre, a youth training facility and a hub for social enterprise - enabling individuals to realise their full potential, and ultimately to alleviate local poverty through social and economic regeneration.

My story

Hi, thanks so much for coming to my London Marathon 2007 fundraising page. I've never run very far before so this is going to be a real challenge for me, but I'm well into training and I have even given up drinking beer specially!

I'm running to raise money for City Gateway (I work for) and we work with disadvantaged young people in Tower Hamlets, giving them hope and helping them realise their potential. I want to raise £5000 which is enough to fund 10 places on our Apprenticeship Scheme, and I'd absolutely love you to sponsor me.

So please give me as much as you can, because I'm going to be in a lot of pain, and you will also be really helping some young people to reach their ambitions. I really believe that given the chance everyone has the ability to succeed, and it's a real privilege for me to work with these young people and help them start to achieve their aspirations.
