The ACLT aims to raise awareness and increase black, mixed race and ethnic minority representation on the world bone marrow registers and to promote blood donation. The chances of finding a match are greater if potential bone marrow donors are from the same racial background as the recipient. Situated in Chapel-en-le-Frith, Derbyshire, Blythe House Hospice is High Peak's only day-care hospice. The principal activity of the hospice is the provision of specialist palliative care services and support for people with cancer and other life-threatening illnesses and the extension of support to their families. The services we provide are free to the user but not cost free. We receive less than one-third of our essential running costs from the local Primary Care Trust and we aim to raise £6000 from charitable donations each week. A £2.50 donation will pay for lunch for one of our clients, £10 will provide art therapy equipment, £20 will pay for a complementary therapy session, £30 means someone will receive a much needed counselling session.
