This group of friends from Sutton & Epsom rugby club, with no mountaineering experience, will shortly be taking on The Three Peaks Challenge. A leg burning, lung crushing continuous walking endurance race against the clock to scale the 3 highest peaks in England, Scotland and Wales in just 30 hours!! They will cover around 43 KM/ 27 miles on foot as they climb Snowdon, Ben Nevis and Scafell Pike.
The lads are taking this on to raise much needed funds for the Jigsaw School in Guildford which educates children with autistic spectrum disorders (ASD) in
Surrey ( Registered Charity; number 1075464)
In particular, we are aiming to pay for an Interactive Whiteboard Teaching aid (hardware, software, installation and accompanying laptop computer). This will be a fantastic tool to help engage pupils and bring lessons to life. Especially useful for children with ASD as it will help Jigsaw help them reach their full potential, especially with communication and social skills.
A close friend of one of the team's family has a very cool son at this school and raising the money will have a direct and positive impact on Sam.
Please contribute as much as you can, the money will act as motivation to keep us going when our willpower begins to falter and we are wondering why we didn't take on a pie-eating marathon in the Sutton & Epsom Club House instead!!
Many thanks for your support,
Simon, Keith, Richard,James & Jake
